One of Arizona's top defensive linemen will be out for the Wildcats' biggest home game of the season against the 18th-ranked BYU Cougars.Β
Arizona defensive end Tre Smith is listed as out in the first Arizona-BYU availability report on Wednesday. It's the second game Smith will miss this season. He suffered a leg injury in Arizona's win over Weber State and missed the following game against Kansas State.Β

Arizona left guard Jordan Brown, who made his Arizona debut last week for the injured Chubba Ma'ae, is out for the BYU game. Ma'ae and left tackle Ty Buchanan, who also left the Oklahoma State game with an injury were not listed on the initial availability report.
Arizona punt returner Jeremiah Patterson and backup safety Jack Luttrell are questionable for Saturday. Former Arizona tight end Keyan Burnett, who opted to redshirt this seasonΒ and mutually part ways with the program, and defensive lineman Jarra "Bear" Anderson, who's no longer with the program, are labeled out.Β
Arizona defensive lineman Tre Smith (3) flushes Hawaii quarterback Luke Weaver (2) out of the pocket in the fourth quarter of the Wildcatsβ season opener, Aug. 30, 2025, at Arizona Stadium.
BYU star linebacker Jack Kelly is listed as doubtful with an upper-body injury. BYU linebacker Isaiah Glasker is probable for Saturday. Both Kelly and Glasker have combined for 13 tackles for loss this season.Β
Arizona (4-1) hosts 18th-ranked BYU (5-0) at Arizona Stadium on Saturday at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
