Rapper Snoop Dogg and his alcoholic drink brand β€œGin & Juice by Dre and Snoop,” co-founded by Dr. Dre and named after the duo’s mid-1990s popular hit, is the latest sponsor of the Arizona Bowl.

The 2024 Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by β€œGin & Juice by Dre and Snoop” will air nationally this December on The CW, the network announced on Wednesday.

It marks the second consecutive season the bowl will air on The CW,

β€œI am fired up that The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop will be broadcast live on The CW Network,” said Snoop Dogg, whose birth name is Calvin Broadus, in a news release. β€œThe CW is in almost every home in America making it the perfect place for fans to catch our bowl.”

The CW Network president Dennis Miller said, β€œWith the star power of Snoop Dogg fueling the excitement, we are looking forward to capturing even more viewers this year in what promises to be an action-packed football match-up.”

When the Arizona Bowl was first introduced in 2015, the game was broadcasted on Campus Insiders’ website, before the Arizona Bowl signed a multi-year deal with CBS Sports in 2017. The 2020 Arizona Bowl between Ball State and San Jose State, which was coached by current Arizona Wildcats leader Brent Brennan, was moved to the national CBS channel after the Sun Bowl was canceled due to pandemic-related issues.

After that, the game was streamed on Barstool Sports’ digital platforms, before Barstool and the CW offered an online/television simulcast of the game in 2023.

Barstool was the game’s title sponsor for three years before Snoop Dogg took over as sponsor for the bowl game at Arizona Stadium that features teams from the Mountain West and Mid-American Conference.

The Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl drew more than 1.1 million viewers on its CW Network broadcast last season, when Wyoming edged Toledo on a walk-off field goal; that game was the third-most watched telecast for the network in the last two years.

Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at The CW Network, said, β€œThe CW’s first college bowl game in network history served as the centerpiece of eight straight hours of live sports programming.”

β€œLive sports continue to set new ratings milestones for The CW, reinforcing the reach of broadcast television and establishing the network as a premiere destination for free, high-quality games that appeal to all sports fans,” Schwartz said.

The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice, the first college football bowl game sponsored by an alcoholic beverage, announced on Tuesday that players from participating teams will receive NIL compensation through the game.

β€œAdding NIL opportunities for the student-athletes of the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl presented by Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop is the next evolution in college sports and we wanted to lead by example,” Snoop Dogg said on Tuesday. β€œWe can’t wait to give our players the opportunity to serve the community of Tucson during Bowl week while at the same time using their name, image and likeness to rightfully earn money for themselves and their families.”

The Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl kicks off Dec. 28 at 2:30 p.m. on The CW.
