Former Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey is a Canadian Football League champion. The Tucson native and ex-Wildcat helped the Toronto Argonauts defeat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 for the Grey Cup on Sunday.

Carey led the Argonauts to their second CFL championship in three seasons โ€” the first for Carey, who spent the previous six seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. Carey had 15 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown on Sunday.ย 

Toronto scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, which tied a Grey Cup record.ย 

Since his first season with the Stampeders in 2018, after a three-year stint with the NFL's Chicago Bears, Carey has emerged as one of the top running backs in the CFL.

Carey, a two-time CFL West All-Star, has 683 rushing attempts for 3,915 yards and 26 touchdown over his CFL career. This season marked the second time Carey reached over 1,000 yards. Carey was third in the CFL this season with 1,060 yards.

Between his career at Canyon del Oro High School, Arizona, Chicago and the CFL, Carey has rushed for a combined 14,298 yards and 158 touchdowns on 2,076 attempts; he has 18,128 all-purpose yards in that stretch.ย ย
