Arizona added another quarterback to its 2025 recruiting class on Monday, when three-star Texas quarterback Sawyer Anderson committed to the Wildcats.

The Dallas native was previously committed to the Purdue Boilermakers and was recruited by Graham Harrell, first-year Arizona offensive coordinator Seth Doege’s mentor, who was fired earlier this season. Anderson was committed to Purdue since 2023.

Doege is listed as the primary recruiter for Anderson on 247Sports.com. Anderson committed to the UA over Purdue, Colorado, Miami, Mississippi State, North Carolina, TCU, SMU, Arizona State, Ole Miss and Missouri, among others.

The 5-11, 177-pound Anderson was a four-year starter at Parish Episcopal High School in Dallas and completed 859 of 1,320 passes (65%) for 14,674 yards, 158 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.

Anderson is the second quarterback in Arizona’s 2025 recruiting class, along with Phoenix-area product Luke Haugo, who is expected to enroll in the spring and join the team in January. The Wildcats previously had two quarterbacks in the ‘25 class leading up to the start of the early signing period until three-star Northern California standout Robert McDaniel flipped to UCLA.

With backups Brayden Dorman and Anthony Garcia entering the transfer portal, assuming starter Noah Fifita returns in 2025, the current reserve quarterbacks include walk-on Cole Tannenbaum, Anderson, Haugo and Adam Damante, who transferred from Northern Arizona last season.

Arizona’s recruiting class ranks 54th nationally and 11th in the Big 12, per 247Sports.
