The process of rebuilding Arizona’s pitching staff has begun.

The Wildcats have landed their first transfer in the 2025 portal cycle, and it’s a pitcher with a familiar name.

D1Softball reported that Jenae Berry is transferring from Indiana to Arizona.

Berry is from Queen Creek. She is the sister of former UA baseball player Jacob Berry. Another Berry sibling, Jade, plays softball for Stanford.

Jenae Berry spent one season at Indiana. She went 8-6 with a 4.60 ERA, allowing 64 hits in 62β…“ innings with 26 walks and 34 strikeouts.

Arizona has lost most of its β€˜25 pitching production this offseason. Devyn Netz, Miranda Stoddard and Saya Swain ran out of eligibility, while Aissa Silva, Brooke Mannon, Ryan Maddox and Sydney Somerndike entered the transfer portal.

The Wildcats have one returning pitcher, Sarah Wright, who appeared in four games as a freshman. They have one incoming freshman who’s a pitcher, Rylie Holder of Fulshear, Texas.

Jacob Berry was a member of Arizona baseball’s 2021 College World Series team. He transferred to LSU after his freshman year, following Jay Johnson, and became a first-round pick of the Miami Marlins.
