Marana Tigers two-way star Dezmen Roebuck reached another milestone in his illustrious high school football career.
Roebuck was named winner of the Ed Doherty Award on Saturday. The annual accolade is the Arizona high school football version of the Heisman Trophy. Mica Mountain defensive end and tight end Jimmy Leon was also a finalist for the Ed Doherty Award.
Roebuck is the first Tucson-area player to receive Ed Doherty Award honors since Atlanta Falcons running back and former Salpointe Catholic star Bijan Robinson in 2019.
Roebuck was also recently named Gatorade Player of the Year in Arizona and MaxPreps Player of the Year in Arizona.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Roebuck led the Tigers to the programβs first-ever spot in the Open Division and set a state record with 352 career receptions for 4,239 yards and 40 touchdowns over four seasons. Roebuck had eight games with over 100 receiving yards this season.
As a defensive back this season, Roebuck recorded 51 tackles, four interceptions and two forced fumbles.
Roebuck recently signed to play at Washington, where heβll play for former Arizona Wildcats head coach Jedd Fisch. Roebuck is one of two Arizona products to sign with UWβs 2025 recruiting class, along with Phoenix defensive back Rylon Dillard-Allen. Former in-state UA signees in quarterback Demond Williams, running back Adam Mohammed and offensive lineman Michael Watkins left Arizona to play for Fisch this year.

After Marana lost to Chandler Hamilton in the first round of the Open Division, Roebuck ended his Marana career with 5,540 all-purpose yards and 44 touchdowns.
