Girls high school soccer playoffs begin tonight, with 11 teams from throughout Southern Arizona taking part in the Class 6A, 5A, 4A and 3A brackets.ย
Oddly, only one match features a pair of local teams: No. 15 Palo Verde will take on second-seeded Salpointe Catholic at 6 p.m. in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs. The winner will face either Douglas or Gilbert Highley on Saturday.ย
The four-round girls state soccer playoffs end Feb. 10, with championship matches at Gilbert Campo Verde and Gilbert Williams Field. Tonight's matches are listed below:
