The New York Yankees tied an MLB record by registering 15 home runs in their first three games of the season. The Yankees, who swept the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 in their season-opening series, achieved the feat following a three-run homer from Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the seventh inning of the most recent contest between the teams. New York captured the third game 12-3, including four home runs, as star Aaron Judge became the first Yankee to hit four home runs in the first three outings of the year. Judge launched three homers in his team’s 20-9 win over Milwaukee a day prior as the Yankees tied a franchise record of nine home runs in a single game. The series between the teams began with a 4-2 victory for the Yankees, with the Brewers starting the season in a 0-3 hole thanks to New York’s blistering form on offense. The 27-time world champions' batting performance has drawn some attention to bats that some of the Yankees players are using this season. The bats were designed by former physicist turned baseball coach Aaron Leanhardt and have a thicker and wider barrel than a standard bat, which leads to fewer misses by the hitter. Brewers pitcher Trevor Megill said that "It's the Yankees, so they’ll (the MLB) let it slide"; however, a league spokesperson told The Athletic that “the shape of the bat does not violate the rules.”
