As FC Tucson’s associate coach last season, Sebastian Pineda, left, discusses strategy with then-FCT head coach Mark Biagi just before the second-half kickoff in a USL League Two match at Kino Sports Complex on July 8, 2023.

Ready for the first home weekend match of their 2024 regular season, FC Tucson men are in need of wins.

After a shocking 3-1 loss at home to Capo FC on Tuesday to start their first homestand of the regular season, FC Tucson (2-2-2) dropped to fifth in the Southwest Division in USL League Two as of press time.

The Men in Black had beaten Capo 4-1 on May 25 during their five-match road trip to start the regular season.

FC Tucson hosts Redlands FC (3-2-1) on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the second of three home matches. FCT beat Redlands 2-1 on Sunday to close out the road trip.

The win over Redlands also came a day after FC Tucson suffered its first loss of the season, 2-1 at AMSG FC.

FC Tucson is billing Saturday’s match as Fan Appreciation Night and the home club will wear multicolored “Golazo” jerseys. The jerseys are already available for purchase.

FC Tucson is giving away a Golazo jersey, koozie and cooling cloth, as well as tickets to the Copa America quarterfinal in Arizona on their website.

On the women’s side, FC Tucson (4-0-1) looks to keep pace with SC del Sol atop the Desert Conference when FCTW faces Royals AZ (1-3) at Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep.

FCTW is tied atop the table with defending conference champion SC del Sol after scoring a goal in stoppage time to get a draw at home against del Sol.
