The Tucson Baseball Team’s visa issues continue to drag on, resulting in another series being moved to Mexico.

Pima County announced Thursday that TBT’s fifth scheduled home series, Nov. 18-20 vs. Aguilas de Mexicali, has been relocated to Mexicali.

The next possible date for TBT’s regular-season debut at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium is Nov. 25, the start of a three-game series vs. Algodoneros de Guasave.

The Tucson Baseball Team, formerly known as Mayos de Navojoa, was supposed to begin playing at its new home Oct. 16.

But the team encountered an unexpected visa snafu, forcing TBT to play all of its games on the road while team management works with the U.S. government to resolve the problem.

“The Cuevas family has been transparent and persistent in addressing the visa issue,” said Sarah Horvath, director of the Kino Sports Complex. “We share their commitment to making Tucson a home for professional baseball.”

TBT entered Thursday night’s game at Charros de Jalisco in eighth place in the 10-team Mexican Pacific Winter League with a 10-15 record.

The season is divided into two halves, consisting of 34 games. The eight playoff participants are determined by where teams finish in each half. Points are awarded in reverse order of the standings.
