It took Arizona 2024 All-American receiver Tetairoa McMillan just two games to reach a much sought-after NFL standard of 100 receiving yards in a game. He did so against the Arizona Cardinals. He became the fifth ex-Wildcat to hit the 100-receiving yards plateau in NFL history.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (4) runs the ball against the Arizona Cardinals during the first half, Sept. 14, 2025, in Glendale.

It’s interesting to note that T-Mac’s position coach at Arizona, former All-Pac-10 receiver Bobby Wade, did not have a 100-yard receiving day in 102 NFL games. Wade caught 244 passes in the NFL.

Now T-Mac can pursue the UA record of 11 games of 100 receiving yards set by Vance Johnson, 1985-92. Johnson caught six passes for 116 yards in his sixth game as an NFL rookie in ’85. His most prolific season was 1988, when he had four games with 100 or more yards, including 105 in a playoff game against Houston.

Dennis Northcutt, who, in my opinion, was the top UA receiver until T-Mac, had five NFL games with 100 or more yards receiving. His first was in his 31st NFL game, 2002, with 165 yards against Baltimore.

Theo Bell, an explosive 1970s receiver for Jim Young‘s Arizona teams, had four NFL games with 100 yards or more receiving. He’s the only ex-Wildcat to catch passes for 100 yards in back-to-back games, doing so in 1980 against Oakland and Cincinnati. All four of his 100-yard games came in one season, 1980.

The only other ex-Wildcat to catch 100 yards of passes in an NFL game was Mike Thomas. In the ninth game of his rookie season, 2010, Thomas caught eight passes for 149 yards against Houston.

T-Mac has a long way to go to become the most prolific Wildcat pass catcher in the NFL. Johnson caught 415 passes for 5,695 yards and 37 TDs for the Broncos.
