Kristine Spengler has a passion for beautiful paper, letterpress and handmade stuff that dates back to childhood.Β
As a kid, when people asked her what she wanted to do when she grew up, her answer was always "I want to run a stationery store."
That dream has become a reality for Spengler in the shop she is opening with her husband, Steve Thompson, on Thursday.Β
Spengler describes Saguaro Market as a "brick-and-mortar Etsy," where you'll find hand-printed letterpress, art prints, gift-wrap, stationery, hand-made gifts, home goods and more.
At the core of Saguaro Market is creating a space for "artisans to showcase their work and for Tucson moms to come find things that are unique, not outrageously expensive and they know heart and soul were put into them," Spengler said. "The store is about surrounding yourself with what you love."Β

Spengler has a full-time job in marketing and web development and her husband is a brewer at Barrio Brewing.
So, for now, the shop will be open for four days each month. It will open on the same weekends as its neighbor, Gather A Vintage Market.
"It's a passion project," Spengler said. Β
Each month, Spengler will rearrange and bring in new art to keep it new and fresh, with the hopes of creating a shopping experience that will become a monthly tradition for her customers.
"I want this type of shopping to be an experience. To inspire people," Spengler said.Β
In the future, Spengler hopes to host art workshops and create an incubator space for artists who want to grow their business.
