Spring in Tucson means oranges and grapefruits out the wazoo.
If you've eaten all the citrus you can stand this season, but have lots of fruit left, don't let it go to waste.
Instead, donate it to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona during Super Citrus Saturday so those in need can enjoy it.
Food bank trucks, staff and volunteers will be on hand at two locations to accept donations.
Last year during citrus season, local residents donated more than 124,000 pounds.
"This donated fruit can bring such joy to people who may not be able to afford to add fresh produce to their diets," said Michael McDonald, the food bank's CEO. "It's wonderful that the community is so willing to spend just a little extra time dropping off donations that would otherwise be left unused."
If you can't make it to the event Saturday, you can drop off donations at your local food bank in Tucson, Marana or Green Valley.

Donated citrus will benefit those in need who might not be able to afford to add fresh produce to their diets.
