- Bank of Tucson: Step Up to Justice received a $5,000 Community Reinvestment Act grant from Bank of Tucson. The CRA is a federal law designed to encourage commercial banks and savings associations to help meet the needs of borrowers in all segments of their communities, including low and moderate income neighborhoods. Bank of Tucsonβs $5,000 grant will support Step Up to Justice and allow the organizationβs volunteers to provide civil legal services to low income individuals and families in Pima County.
- Trico Electric Cooperative Inc.: The Trico Foundation awarded a total of $170,000 in college scholarships to 38 students in Southern Arizona for the 2018-19 school year. Each year, the nonprofit foundation awards scholarships to Trico members and their families to attend a university, community or vocational college. Since 1995, more than $1.7 million in college scholarships have been awarded by the foundation, benefiting more than 450 students.
- Morgan Stanley: A group of about 25 local Morgan Stanley employees packed summer breakfasts to be distributed to children in the Tucson area over the next two months. The Morgan Stanley Foundation also recently funded a $50,000 grant to fund the Community Food Bank School Pantry Program, and an additional $50,000 to support the Community Food Bankβs fresh produce program.
- Cadden Community Management: The company donated $500 to the Lohse Family YMCA of Tucson. The donation was part of Caddenβs βWeight Loss for a Causeβ fitness program. Cadden employees volunteered for a 12-week diet and fitness program and the company donated $25 for each percentage lost resulting in the $500 donation.
