The home of Carl H. Ingwer Jr. and his family was photographed for a Tucson Citizen feature in 1960. The family took a relatively new home and added rooms, a three-car garage, a pool, stables for horses and other amenities.

Stuffed animals cavort on the bed in Carla's room, and the top shelf of her bookcase is reserved for her horse miniature collection. Heavy Indian cast bronze elephant martingales hanging from the book case contrast with delicate white and gold wrought iron headboard. Walls are turquoise, the bedspreads, white.

The screened porch at the front of the house provides a sheltered spot for outdoor dining. The awning, curved to match the planter below, extends beyond the roofed area to protect the walk and shield windows from warm summer sun. Informal furnishings harmonize with the outdoor setting.

The pink and turquoise accents of a kitchen mural are repeated in the cabinets and counters. Fold-up electric units allow maximum counter space. The sink and additional counter space are on the opposite wall of the compact (8½ x 14') but thoroughly efficient kitchen.
