A 68-year-old motorcyclist has died days after a crash in midtown, Tucson police said.

David Edward Verner was injured in a crash about 8 p.m. June 7, at East Grant and North Swan roads, police said Thursday in a news release.

In the crash, police say Verner was riding a 1989 Harley-Davidson east on Grant and collided with a 2000 Lincoln Town car while both drivers were turning onto southbound Swan, the release said.

Verner was taken to St. Joesph’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but his condition was later upgraded to stable. Police were notified June 17 that Verner died at the hospital.

The driver of the Lincoln, an unidentified 36-year-old woman was not injured, the release said.

Failure to yield while making a right turn by Verner was ruled the "major contributing factor" in the wreck, but police said the case has been assigned to traffic investigations for further review.
