A 29-year-old man was killed Monday morning in a rear-end crash with a tow truck, Tucson police said.

The crash happened about 10 a.m. when Michael Henry Dooling smashed a Chevrolet Colorado into the back of a flat-bed tow truck stopped at a red light on westbound East Valencia road and South Alvernon Way, Tucson police said in a news release.

Witnesses said the pickup truck was seen swerving on Interstate 10 and on Valencia prior to the wreck. Investigators say the truck was going about 45 mph at the time of impact, the release said.

The driver of the tow truck was not injured.

The crash still is being investigated.
