A pedestrian struck in midtown traffic on Jan. 17 died Thursday of his injuries, the Tucson Police Department reports.

Walter James Pain was 59, police said.

He was struck at about 8 p.m. Jan. 17 in the 3700 block of East Speedway by a Hyundai sedan, whose driver was not injured, police said. 

Police say Pain was crossing the six lanes of Speedway, while wearing dark clothing, and was not in a marked or unmarked crosswalk. 

The Hyundai driver was not impaired, police said. No civil citations or criminal charges have been issued.
