An 87-year-old woman who was struck by a car while crossing the street Sunday afternoon on Tucson's south side has died, police say.
Catalina Deharo-Rodriguez was struck when she stepped in front of traffic in the 6200 block of South 12th Avenue, north of West Valencia Road, Tucson police said in a news release Wednesday.
She died Tuesday at a hospital, the release said.
Police said Deharo-Rodriguez crossed north of an unmarked crosswalk at the corner of West Santa Maria Street when she was stuck by an Oldsmobile sedan.
The driver the Oldsmobile, an 88-year-old man, remained at the crash scene and was cooperating with police, the release said.
