A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday evening in midtown, Tucson police say.

About 7:30 p.m., Bianey Franco was riding west on East Broadway when she collided with an eastbound 2007 Lincoln SUV that was making a left onto North Arcadia Avenue, Tucson police said in a news release.

Franco, who was wearing a helmet, died at the hospital, police said.

The unidentified SUV driver was not injured.

The investigation continues, but failure to yield while making a left turn and speeding are believed to be the major contributing factors in the crash, the release said.
