A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of first degree murder in a shooting late last week on Tucson's south side, Tucson police say.
On Thursday a wounded Antonio I. Rivera, 19, was found in a parking lot near South 12th Avenue and West Drexel Road after a shooting that occurred nearby in the 300 block of West Holladay Drive, police said in a new release.
The shooting occurred during "a meeting between two groups," the release said.
The next day, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery, the release said.
The criminal charges were elevated to murder Saturday after Rivera died at the hospital, the release said.
The unidentified boy is being held at the Pima County Juvenile Court Detention Center. Anyone with information is asked to call 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line.
