A man was shot and killed Sunday night during a stand-off with Tucson police on the city's north side, authorities say.
The incident started about 8 p.m. when police were called to a house in the 9000 block of East Cooper Street after a boy told 911 a family member threatened him with a gun, Tucson police said in a news release.
Officers were able to remove two more children from the home, near East Broadway and South Camino Seco, the release said.
An unidentified man barricaded himself in the house and both TPD SWAT and hostage negotiators went to the scene.
The man was shot and killed after going outside.
No further details were released early Monday.
The Pima Regional Critical Incident Team, or PRCIT, will handle the criminal investigation of this incident. The multi-agency PRCIT investigates local officer-involved shootings.Β
The Pima County Sheriffβs Department is the lead investigating agency in the shooting.
