Three men were wounded in an apparent drug-related shooting on the city's west side Tuesday.
One man suffered serious injuries but was in stable condition. The other two men suffered non-life threatening wounds, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
Two men were transported to a hospital by Tucson Fire Department paramedics, and the third man arrived at the hospital on his own, Bay said.
Shortly after 3 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of West El Rio Drive.
The neighborhood is west of Interstate 10 and north of West Speedway.
One wounded man was found at the El Rio Drive address, and a second injured man was found in the 1500 block of North Hualpai Road, which is in the same neighborhood, said Bay.
Detectives learned that there were four men in a vehicle that stopped at a house on El Rio Drive. Some of the men went inside the house and there was an exchange of gunfire with people inside the house, Bay said.
The shootout continued outdoors into the street and the men left in the vehicle. Bullets struck other houses, but no other injuries were reported, said Bay.
Detectives continued the investigation Tuesday night, and did not release any suspect descriptions or a vehicle description. Also, no details were released on whether drugs were found in the house.
Investigators ask that anyone with information call 911 or 88-CRIME.
