Tucson will kickoff the work week with higher-than-normal temperatures before a weather system moves into the area bringing cooler weather and a chance of rain, the weather service says.

The first half of the workweek in Tucson will have hotter-than-normal temperatures before a weather system moves in Thursday to drop high temperatures from the low 90s to the high 70s, forecasters say.

Highs in the low 90s are expected through Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Tucson said Monday in its forecast for the week. A weather system will drop highs here to 83 degrees on Wednesday and the high 70s through Sunday, when it is expected to reach 78 degrees.

Windy conditions Wednesday and Thursday raise the wildfire danger across the region, the weather service said. There’s a slight chance for light rain Saturday in the area.
