The No. 22-ranked Arizona women's golf team started its spring schedule by taking third at the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate hosted by Lorena Ochoa at Tucson Country Club.
Top-ranked Stanford won the tournament hosted by the Wildcats and finished -16 after firing a -11 in the third round on Tuesday. The Cardinal were the only team to finish under par. Runner-up and No. 21 Baylor shot +19, with Arizona one shot behind at +20.
Stanford had five players finish in the Top 10, including individual champion Andrea Revuelta, who shot 11 under for three rounds.
Arizona junior Charlotte Back, who finished tied for 11th at +3, was the Wildcats' highest finisher. Julia Misemer and Nena Wongthanavimok tied for 18th at +5.
Arizona's Julia Misemer has displayed the ability to keep her emotions in check on the course, to the point that UA coach Laura Ianello has compared Misemer's demeanor to that of Lorena Ochoa.
Arizona will take the week off before competing in the Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Feb. 22-23, which will be the Wildcats' last tournament in the state of Arizona this spring.
