Departing Arizona players Allonzo Trier and Rawle Alkins received invites to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago later this month.
Trier's mother, Marcie, confirmed via text message that Allonzo was invited and will participate in the May 16-19 event in Chicago.
Alkins participated in the Combine last spring before returning to Arizona -- and opened some eyes while doing so. He was reportedly invited back to the event this spring -- and then retweeted the report from Adam Zagoria.
Former UA senior Dusan Ristic was not invited, however, after playing in the Portsmouth Invitational seniors-only event. The PIT event said Colorado's George King and three other participants of its event were invited to the Combine, a trail that UA guard Kadeem Allen followed last year and parlayed into a second-round draft pick.
Freshman center Deandre Ayton, meanwhile, will not participate in the event along with several other top prospects who would have little to gain by doing so.
Alkins and Trier have both long been projected second-round picks, making it no surprise they would be invited to the 60-player event.
At the Pac-12 meetings this week in Scottsdale, Washington coach Mike Hopkins said Noah Dickerson did not receive an invite and WSU coach Ernie Kent said Robert Franks also did not, making it more likely those players will return to school.
Kent said Franks could make a decision soon on whether he'll return to school, even though Franks initially indicated he intended to sign with an agent and leave for good.
UA coach Sean Miller declined to comment when approached during breaks in the meetings.
