Arizona head coach Brent Brennan will need to fill at least one void on his staff this offseason.

Arizona football general manager Gaizka Crowley accepted a similar role at Arkansas on Thursday. Crowley's departure was first reported by John Brice of FootballScoop.com.

Crowley is joining first-year head coach Ryan Silverfield's staff at Arkansas. Silverfield signed with Arkansas after a six-year stint at Memphis.

Crowley’s scouting career started as a Midwest regional director of recruiting and scouting for “XOS Digital” in Chicago, where he edited highlights for prospects, rated players and traveled across the U.S. to demonstrate recruiting software programs.

The Florida native has also held player personnel roles at Southern Illinois, UNLV and Western Michigan. Crowley worked under former UNLV head coach Marcus Arroyo, a longtime friend of Brennan. Crowley and Brennan got to know each other over the years when UNLV faced the Brennan-coached San Jose State Spartans.

Brennan hired Crowley in 2024 and the former UA general manager had an integral role in helping with the roster turnover in the last year. Crowley and director of scouting Fletcher Kelly — and a dozen-plus scouting interns — work in lockstep as Arizona's scouting department.

Gaizka Crowley, the general manager of the Arizona football team, talks about his role with the program during training camp in 2024. Crowley came to Tucson in February '24 as one of Brent Brennan’s key front-office hires.

The Wildcats added over 60 newcomers to their roster this season — many of whom hail from Group of 5 or FCS backgrounds.

Arizona recently signed the 35th-best recruiting class nationally — fifth-best in the Big 12 — for the 2026 recruiting cycle.

No. 17 Arizona (9-3) faces SMU (8-4) for the 46th Holiday Bowl at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on Friday, Jan. 2, at 6 p.m. on Fox.
