Quarterback K'Hari Lane (sitting, Arizona headband) after signing his letter of intent to join the Arizona Wildcats.

It took a while, but quarterback K'Hari Lane can now, officially, call himself an FBS quarterback.

Friday, Lane signed his national letter of intent and officially became a member of Arizona's 2017 recruiting class.

Despite a stellar high school career in Montezuma, Georgia, Lane famously went past Signing Day without a single scholarship offer from an FBS program. At the beginning of Arizona's spring season, Lane visited campus and watched practice. That weekend, UA offered him a scholarship and he committed on the spot

Lane is considered more of a traditonal pocket passer than Arizona's other quarterbacks, but the Wildcats were desperate to add depth at the position after Braxton Burmeister flipped his allegiance to Oregon. Brandon Dawkins and Khalil Tate are currently competing for the starting job and Catalina Foothills product Rhett Rodriguez will join them this summer, as will Lane.

Lane, listed at 6-feet and 220 pounds, is rated a three star recruit by Scout.com
