There's lots to do at Cooperative Extension

With October, Tucson comes back to life.Β 

The plants feel it, too.Β 

Late fall is one of our planting seasons, so if you've been meaning to add some greenery to your life, now's the time.Β 

In the coming weeks, Tucson's plant people have lots of sales to help you get that garden started. Make sure to bring cash. Some of these sales don't take cards.Β 

Here's where to go.Β 

Pima County Master Gardeners

What:Β The fall plant sale supports the University of Arizona program that offers you free plant advice. Stock up on cacti and succulents, fruit-bearing plants and more. Cash only.Β 

When: Saturday, Oct. 6, 8-11 a.m.Β 

Where: Pima County Master Gardeners, 4210 N. Campbell Ave.Β

Tucson Organic Gardeners

What:Β Find native plants, veggies and flowers plus a free gardening class at 11 a.m.Β 

When: Saturday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Β 

Where: St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 3809 E. Third St.Β

Tohono Chul

What: So. Many. Plants. More than 1,000 species actually. This is a fun one to just wander, even if you're not in the market for a new landscape.Β 

When:Β Members β€” Wednesday, Oct. 10, noon to 6 p.m. General Public β€” Saturday Oct. 13,Β 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. andΒ Sunday, Oct. 14, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: At Tohono Chul, on the east side of the property, 7211 N. Northern Ave.

Tucson Village FarmΒ 

What: Get vegetable starts for your own yard-to-table efforts. The farm will be selling a variety of veggie starts, including greens, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and cabbage. Each start will cost $4 or three for $10. Cash or check only.Β 

When: Saturday, Oct. 13, 8-11 a.m.Β 

Where: Tucson Village Farm, 4210 N. Campbell Ave.Β

Native Seeds / SEARCH

What: Buy veggie and herb starts, seasonal wildflowers and even some Ocotillo.Β 

When: Friday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 21, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The sale will open to members at 9 a.m. on Friday.Β 

Where: Native Seeds / SEARCH, 3061 N. Campbell Ave.Β
