  • Family Housing Resources, Inc.: FHR has awarded two grants totaling $150,000 in an effort to support affordable housing programs in Pima County and Southern Arizona. United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona received $100,000, and Our Family Services received $50,000.
  • Hughes Federal Credit Union: The credit union donated information technology equipment worth more than $25,000 to the Pima County Joint Technical Education District. The donation, made through the Hughes Helps program, includes two HP server environments and two data storage arrays.
  • Arizona Lions Club: The club volunteered at Tucson Hebrew Academy, providing eye exams for about 140 students. The Arizona Lions Club provides eye exams, glasses and optical procedures to individuals who can otherwise afford it.
  • Arizona Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons: Drs. Robert Wood and Nicholas Coles have announced their final recipient for their Second Chance program. Tucsonan Christina Bazaldua was selected from 515 applicants to receive full-arch restoration, a procedure costing upward of $50,000, completely free of charge. The practice is teaming up with Dr. Corey Schumer at Schumer Dental PC and Dental Prosthetics Inc. for the procedure.
