- Jimmy John’s: Locally-owned Jimmy John’s sandwich shops donated lunch for 40 Ben’s Bells volunteers who were working the phones raising money for Ben’s Bells on Arizona Gives Day. In addition to lunch, Jimmy John’s donated $500 to Ben’s Bells’ general fund. Ben’s Bells works to inspire, educate, and motivate people to realize the impact of intentional kindness. Jimmy John’s also recently gave back to Jazmyn’s Lunch Break, providing lunch to 100 children and volunteers at Diamond Children’s Medical Center. Jazmyn’s Lunch Break serves children receiving treatment and care at the University of Arizona Medical Center Diamond Children’s, organizing special lunches for patients and their families.
- Monsanto Fund: The Amphi Foundation has received a $10,000 Monsanto Fund grant to expand a STEM education program to five elementary schools. Project Lead the Way is an activity- and problem-based program in which students have to apply math and science to real world problems. The program is already being utilized in Amphitheater School District middle schools. Now, elementary students at Copper Creek, Innovation Academy, Mesa Verde, Painted Sky and Prince elementary schools have been added to that list. The grant is helping to purchase program curriculum, iPads, and science kit materials. The Monsanto Fund is the philanthropic arm of Monsanto Company.
