- Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage: The Tucson/Foothills office collected more than 200 pounds of food for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona through its food drive, which ran from Oct. 23 to Nov. 16. The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona provides hunger relief, health, education and community-development assistance across the five counties of Southern Arizona.
- PetSmart Charities: The organization awarded the Humane Society of Southern Arizona a $19,080 grant to support its efforts to save at-risk animals at Graham County Animal Control. The grant from PetSmart Charities will support the transport, medical care and rehabilitation of pets received from Graham County rural shelters, as well as the work the Humane Society and the county do to find long-term, sustainable solutions to keep pets in homes through education, spay/neuter, vaccination and other outreach programs.
- Arizona Builders Alliance: Members of the alliance descended upon Literacy Connects for a volunteer labor event. More than 200 volunteers put in more than $200,000 in improvements, including demolition, landscaping and cleanup, bathroom renovations, plumbing, flooring, electrical, air conditioning, structural support and painting.
- Great Clips: The Arizona franchises partnered with the Arizona Department of Child Safety to help support children in foster and group-home care. Through a Dec. 2 fundraiser, Great Clips donated $1 per haircut to raise funds for the Arizona Helping Hands Toy Drive, which provides toys, personal-care items and clothing for children in foster care. In addition to the one-time event, Great Clips is donating 500 free haircuts monthly to children in the foster-care program.
