- Envoy America: The Arizona-based ridesharing program has partnered with the American Cancer Society to offer free rides to Tucson patients who struggle to make it to appointments. Envoy America offers accompanied transportation and extra assistance to seniors in Tucson and Phoenix.
- The American Cancer Societyβs Road to Recovery program provides trained drivers who donate their time and use of their personal vehicles to drive cancer patients in their community to and from the potentially lifesaving treatments they need. When there arenβt enough volunteers to assist each patient, the American Cancer Society has a special fund to cover the costs of using third-party services like taxis or ride-share services. Envoy America drivers will wait for patients and take them home as soon as their appointment is done.
- Community Foundation for Southern Arizona: CFSA is launching a grant-making program to support local nonprofits. The CORE grants program will provide general operating support funds to high-impact nonprofits in Southern Arizona. CORE grants can support fundamental needs, including administrative costs, program expenses or salaries. Grant requests up to $30,000 will be accepted from qualified nonprofit organizations. The application process is open and the deadline is May 1. The review process will take place during the summer with award notifications at the end of August.
