• Bank of America:
  • The company awarded $167,500 in grants to more than a dozen Tucson nonprofits providing workforce-development opportunities and education that help people chart a path to better economic futures, and to nonprofits providing basic-needs resources fundamental to building personal and financial stability. Grant recipients include: Youth on Their Own, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, Jobpath Inc., Interfaith Community Services, Old Pueblo Community Services, Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona, Literacy Connects, Tucson Center for Women and Children, Earn to Learn, Our Family Services Inc., United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona Inc. and B’nai B’rith Covenant House of Tucson Arizona Inc.
  • Brian Smith: The executive chef from Maynard’s Kitchen donated an evening of his time to prepare a six-course meal with the winner of the Chef Experience 2018, which benefits the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Chef Experience 2018 raised more than $35,000 to fight hunger.
  • Larry H. Miller dealerships:
  • Twelve of the Tucson- and Phoenix-based dealerships were represented as part of the Larry H. Miller Golf Classic, which raised $400,000 for charities. The funds will be distributed by Larry H. Miller Charities, the charitable arm of the dealerships. The organization focuses donations on groups and programs benefiting women and children in the areas of health and education. β€œThe proceeds from the Larry H. Miller Golf Classic make a monumental difference in allowing us to give back in the communities where we do business,” said Jay Francis, executive vice president, corporate affairs and Miller Family Philanthropy.
