  • Sun Tran: A Stuff-the-Bus campaign put on by Sun Tran, KGUN 9 News and HSL Properties resulted in 36,314.67 pounds of food being donated to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. The haul surpassed last year’s 27,000 pounds of donated food items.
  • South Tucson Lions Club: More than 1,800 children from La Paloma Academy received free vision screenings. The club referred students in need of glasses to an optometrist and provided glasses to a few students who didn’t have the means to cover the cost.
  • Quilt For a Cause: The nonprofit organization held a quilt auction at Tucson Medical Center, raising more than $100,000 in sales and in-kind donations. The proceeds were split between St. Elizabeth Health Center, receiving $30,000, and Tucson Medical Center For Women, receiving $75,000. The mission of Quilt For a Cause is to use the art and business of quilt making to pursue medical advances against breast and gynecological cancers.
