200-year-old Torah

Beth Nakhai, an associate professor at the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies, unrolls a 200-year-old torah scroll in front of her students in an independent-study class on biblical Hebrew. A rabbi will do restoration work on the document.

The Arizona Center for Judaic studies will host the lecture "Fifty Years Since the Six Day War - How the Middle East Has Changed," 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the University of Arizona Hillel Foundation, 1245 E. Second St.Β 

Asher Susser, a Middle Eastern history professor at the Tel Aviv University and the former Stein Family Professor of Modern Israel Studies at the UA, will speak, according to press materials.Β
