lights and sirens

A LifeNet medical helicopter made an emergency landing Monday afternoon in Redington Pass.Β

A crew and a patient were aboard the helicopter, but no injuries were reported as a result of the emergency landing, said Dep. James Allerton, a spokesman for the Pima County Sheriff's Department. The patient was picked up by another helicopter and taken to a hospital.Β

An unspecified engine failure led to the emergency landing, Allerton said.

The helicopter landed near milepost two on Redington Road, he said. The road was closed Monday afternoon.Β
