A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the killing of a man early Saturday on Tucson's north side, police said.

About 12:30 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a shooting in the area of 1500 North Oracle Road, near West Drachman Street, Tucson police said Sunday in a news release.

A wounded 43-year-old man was found in the desert area east of Francisco Elias Esquer Park, at 1415 N. 14th Ave. The unidentified man died at the hospital, police said.

Investigators say the man was shot during a dispute that involved several people, the release said.

Later in the day, investigators identified Johnny Esparza as one of the people in the dispute. Esparza was apprehended without incident as he entered a bar, the release said.

Esparza was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, armed robbers and aggravated robbery.
