PHOENIX β€” A Scottsdale woman has been accused of child abuse after allegedly leaving her infant son on a pier at Lake Pleasant while she went drinking.

Peoria police say 33-year-old Roseanna Langford Kempson also was arrested on suspicion of endangering the health of a minor.

Kempson didn't have an attorney at her initial court appearance Monday.

Police say Kempson left her 18-month-old son walking around the pier deck Sunday while she was drinking at a bar with a friend.

The toddler was found by a bar employee walking near the edge of a 7-foot deck that had no railing over an area of the lake that's more than 100 feet deep.

The child reportedly wasn't wearing a diaper or life vest.

Police say Kempson was found intoxicated at the bar.
