A 45-year-old man has died days after the pickup he was driving was struck by a driver who ran a red light on Tucson's southeast side, police say.
Joshua James Kirk was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma east on East Old Spanish Trail on April 23 when it was struck by a 2002 Ford Escape headed north on South Houghton Road whose driver ran the red light, Tucson police said in a news release.
Kirk was taken to the hospital. On Saturday police were notified that Kirk had died, the release said.
A man and woman in the Ford were uninjured.
The unidentified 21-year-old man driving the Ford stopped immediately and cooperated with the investigation. He was cited for failure to stop for a red light, the release said.
The investigation continues.
