Two people were killed in a crash Tuesday night on Tucson's west side, police say.
The single-vehicle crash in the 3300 block of West Starr Pass Boulevard, west of South Greaswood Road, was found about 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, Tucson police said Thursday in a news release.
Roman Ortega, 32, was driving a red 2016 Ford Fiesta east on Starr Pass about 9 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the road and smashed into a tree. The passenger, Jazmin Daniela Gonzalez Mada, 29, was thrown from the car, police said in the release.
Both Ortega and Mada died at the crash scene.
Speed and drinking appear to have been factors in the wreck, the release said.
