Authorities have located an inmate who escaped Saturday from a state prison facility in Tucson.

The inmate, Elijah Palmer, was confirmed missing about 4 a.m. Saturday from the minimum security unit, the Arizona Department of Corrections said in a news release. 

According to a Pima County Sheriff's Department news release, Palmer was detained shortly after 1:20 p.m. near South Kolb Road just south of Interstate 10.

Palmer was sentenced out of Pima County on Aug. 6, 2024 for unlawful use of means of transportation. His projected eligible release date was May 12, the release said.
