Pueblo Magnet High School was vandalized Tuesday night and the school is working to clean up the damaged rooms before school starts next Monday.Β

Paint and chemicals were thrown around in the school's science labs, said Stefanie Boe, a Tucson Unified School District spokeswoman. There was also trash thrown all over the rooms, and windows and blinds were broken.

An environmental clean up team was on campus Wednesday to clean up any chemicals that might be hazardous, she said.Β

"It shouldn't have any impact on kids," she said.Β

Items of "historical value" to the school were also stolen from the school. Boe did not specify what they were, saying school safety department has asked that they remain unknown while it investigates.Β

"We just really hope that the items that were stolen get recovered," she said.Β

The district and Tucson Police Department asked the public with any information to call the school safety department at 520-584-7676 or 88-CRIME.Β
