Home-school student

wins science award

Joseph Galasso, a home-school student, was named a Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar for his project, Enabling Powerless, Efficient Superabsorbent Polymer Desalination via Molecular Enhancement of Ion Rejection.

He was one of 300 students selected as part of the science and math competition for high school seniors.

Each scholar, selected from 1,818 entrants, receives a $2,000 award with an additional $2,000 going to their respective school, resulting in $1.2 million in total scholar awards from Regeneron. Forty finalists will be chosen to compete in Washington, D.C., in March.
