What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Last week’s recipient: Jayne Szyndlar

Nominated by: Michael McConnell

Why: Szyndlar is a family advocate and educational assistant at Lulu Walker Elementary School. She organizes an adopt-a-family progam at the school that serves more than 25 families. She makes sure the children in the program get their wish lists fulfilled and helps the families with food, gift cards, blankets, clothing and household items. β€œEvery year she goes above and beyond the call of duty,” McConnell wrote in his nomination form. This past holiday, Szyndlar obtained an apartment with furniture for one of the families in the program. β€œI am amazed at the lengths that she will go to take care of our families,” McConnell wrote.
