A pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run crash, Tucson police said.
The person was struck about 2 a.m. while crossing East 22nd Street near South Park Avenue, police said in a news release.
The person was outside of a crosswalk and crossing against the flow of traffic, the release said.
Police said they were withholding the name of the pedestrian until next of kin have been notified.
The driver fled before police arrived.
The SUV in the crash was found later by officers. It was abandoned.
