Authorities are searching for a suspect or multiple suspects involved in a road-rage shooting Saturday night.

Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the area of West Ina Road and North Camino de la Tierra shortly before midnight Saturday, and found an adult male with signs of gunshot trauma, said Deputy Cody Gress, a department spokesman.

The man was transported to a local hospital, but its unclear what condition he was in.

After interviewing the victim and speaking to witnesses, detectives learned that the shooting was the result of a road-rage incident that began with an argument about the suspect's aggressive driving, Gress said.

The victim was driving westbound on Ina, when a dark-colored sedan pulled up next to his vehicle, and the occupants got into a verbal altercation. Another occupant in the suspect's vehicle pulled out a weapon and shot in the direction of the victim's car, striking the man at least once, Gress said.

The suspect continued to drive westbound on Ina and pulled into the left hand turn lane at Camino de la Tierra, before being rear-ended by the victim. The suspect fled southbound on Camino de la Tierra and left the area, Gress said.

The vehicle is described as a newer-model four-door vehicle, and it's believed that two people were in the car at the time of the incident. Because of the collision, it's believed that the car will have extensive rear-end damage, Gress said.
