Buffalo Exchange: Shoppers at Buffalo Exchange Tucson, near the University of Arizona, had the opportunity to support Compass Affordable Housing as part of the fashion reseller’s $1 Sale on Oct. 12.

Buffalo Exchange offered up a selection of adult and junior clothing and accessories for just $1 apiece, with all proceeds going to Compass Affordable Housing.

Compass works to provide low-cost housing and support services in Tucson.

Buffalo Exchange’s $1 Sale benefited Compass Affordable Housing.

“Giving back has always been a top priority at Buffalo Exchange and we love that Compass makes quality housing accessible for everyone,” said Leslie Lecroy, store manager of Buffalo Exchange Tucson.

Arby’s: More than $14,000 was raised for the Arizona Diaper Bank by Arby’s restaurants.

The Sierra Vista Arby’s location contributed more than $2,400 — the highest amount of any participating restaurant. The donation coincided with National Diaper Need Awareness Week, Sept. 23-29.

“Arby’s is proud to support the Diaper Bank and ensure those in need can get resources,” said Jami Salyers, vice president of operations of Irish Beef, LLC, doing business as Arby’s.

The Arizona Diaper Bank, founded in 1994 in Tucson, has distributed millions of diapers, incontinence briefs, and period products to 600,000 infants, toddlers, teens, adults with disabilities and seniors.

Geico: The Geico Philanthropic Foundation awarded grants to eight Tucson-area nonprofit organizations.

Recipients include Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern Arizona; Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Arizona; Youth On Their Own; Primavera Foundation; Caleb’s Assist; Friends of Pima Animal Care Center; Tucson Wildlife Center; and The Hermitage Cat Shelter.

The awards are part of Geico’s effort to invest in communities where its customers and employees live and work. Recipients were selected based on pitches by local employees, which was followed by voting.
