The city of Tucson has scheduled one more public hearing on a proposal to modify zoning rules and expand housing.
The Planning Commission voted unanimously Feb. 26 to recommend approval of the proposed Community Corridors Tool.
The plan would ease the path for developers to add density and height to vacant city lots or parking lots for multifamily and first-time buyer homesites, such as townhomes.
One of the goals is to get these projects approved on sites that sit on major streets, near public transit so residents can walk or ride a bike to work.
The upcoming public meeting will be held March 18 at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers, 255 W. Alameda St. and can be viewed online on YouTube.
Visit corridors.tucsonaz.gov for information on how to submit questions and comments or for a link to the online presentation.
