Crystal Birdow, holding bell, with fellow staff members from the home where she works.

What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Last week’s recipient: Crystal Birdow.

Nominated by: Kathy Good.

Why: For her dedication as a caregiver to the residents of an assisted living home where she works. Good wrote in her nomination letter that caregiving work is truly a vocation for Birdow, and one to which she brings a heart full of love for the elderly. Birdow goes out of her way to care for each of the patients in the home. She is kind-hearted, sensitive and seems to know how to bring out the best in each patient, wrote Good, whose mother lives at the facility. β€œHer dedication, patience and kindness are an inspiration,” Good wrote.
